Natural Skin Care For Healthy Skin

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

Nowadays natural skin care products have become increasingly popular, because people are constantly looking for new varieties of skin care products. Entrepreneurs see that as opportunities and many companies are starting to offer natural products to their customers. Even the name is ‘natural’, but natural skin care product is not always created by 100% natural ingredients. Most of them are combination of natural substances with natural preservatives, various emulsifiers, humectants and a variety of surfactants.

The above fact makes several people who have tried a natural skin care approach have decided to make their own products in order to ensure they are applying only natural products to their skin. Chamomile is one of favorite skin care ingredients for people, because it can heal the skin as well as anti-inflammatory abilities when put on topically. Quality natural body care products are purely from botanical based and do not have synthetic chemicals. It is also important that the manufacturing process that is utilized does not damage the natural ingredients.

Honey will retain moisture of your skin. It also has the ability to help your skin take in moisture. Honey is rich with antioxidants and also contains some anti-microbial. Any skin care products which contain the appropriate amount of honey are effective to prevent your skin from the sun and some experts say that it can also rejuvenate your skin. Shea butter is found in kernels from the Karite tree and is contained in numerous natural skin care products and it. Research shows that shea butter can provide significant therapeutic results. Experts also say that shea butter in an unrefined, certified organic form is useful for treating skin problems including eczema, stretch marks, dermatitis and even psoriasis. However, it is highly recommended to consult with your doctor before trying any skin care products.

Overall Health Creates Healthy Skin. It is also good to remember that skin care health is strongly related with your body health. Healthy body makes healthy skin care. So, if you want to have a great skin, you need to maintain your body as well. Do regular exercise, eat vegetables and fruit, drink water, sleep well, no alcohol and no smoking. If you can do that regularly, and you also regularly clean, moisturize and exfoliate your skin, you will get an overall health and as a bonus, you will also get great, clear, toned skin.

Four preparations For Fitness Figure Competition

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

1. Mental preparation

Probably the most important factor that determines a good result in the figure competition is your mind. Most of the competitors will already be determined to win the figure competition and that is an important advantage over the other figure competitors. Set up your mind and start thinking about winning the competition. Try to imagine yourself as the gold medalist, walking tall right in front of everybody as the winner. Wouldn’t that be a great achievement? I think it will. So remember, always set up your mind for the upcoming tasks and don’t think of anything else except on that figure competition.

2. Balanced Diet

I suggest that you look for a professional to create a diet for you. Your diet will depend on your amount of training and on your metabolism. Therefore it is impossible for me to suggest a perfect diet for you. I can however, recommend some good foods that make part of a good diet.

Recommended foods are mostly vegetables, fruits and white meat such as fish. Fruits and vegetables must be eaten daily and white meat should be eaten about twice a week.

Of course there are still other important foods such as dairy products and red meat. But, the intake of these foods must be controlled depending on your training. If you are an athletic person, then 2-3 portions a week of red meat will be fine for you. On the other hand, inactive people should try to reduce these foods to avoid extra intake of fat and cholesterol.

3. Training regime

Training exercises are a need and they will help you win the figure competition. I suggest that you create a 4 day training routine. That means training in Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday will be off so that your body can recover and adapt to the new training. In Saturday and Sunday I suggest that you refrain from your usual training routine and organize a football game or go swimming, anything that will take your mind off the regular training exercises. By doing this you will avoid getting bored and you will successfully continue with your routine.

4. Conclusion

In the end it all comes down to consistency and endurance. A good routine for a figure competition will not do any good if you stop it after one week. Keep your mind focused and try to make your routine as fun as possible. Remember if you can keep this up, you’ll end up wearing a gold medal!

Do Heath Supplements Really Help To Keep You Healthy?

Friday, March 6th, 2009

In this day and age there is a lot that people can do to help keep themselves as healthy as humanly possible. Between exercises, a good diet, health supplements and an overall healthy lifestyle there are just too many ways to go about taking control of one’s own health for so many people to be considered chronically overweight and unhealthy.

Health supplements should never be used as a replacement for a good, balanced diet but they are great ways to supplement the things that you are already doing for your health. These supplements usually come in the form of a pill although they have been known to come in other forms as well such as powders and oils. They can be purchased off of the World Wide Web and any health foods or health supplements store in your local neighborhood mall.

These supplements are usually compacted forms of essential vitamins and minerals that our bodies are in need of every day. They work just as they would were they part of our meals, but there is no substitute for a good healthy meal-no matter how effective a set of health supplements are said to be.

Nowadays, the whole world has awakened to the advantages of these natural herbs, vitamins, and natural supplements, which are becoming increasingly popular. If you have certain problems with your body or areas in which you would like to improve, health supplements may be able to help with that. Don’t make the mistake of lining up a whole bunch of bottles of pills and calling yourself healthy because of it, because that is not the case. On the other hand, if you have issues with joint health or with memory or you are noticing that your skin needs help or your hair is starting to thin-things like these are things that can be made better (hopefully) with the help of health supplements.

Health supplements can help make you a better, healthier you. If you aren’t sure whether or not you should supplement your diet with these vitamins talk to your doctor or the people at your local health foods store and get a professional opinion on what may work the best for you.

Healthy Pregnancy: Pilates Helps Expecting Mothers From Pregnancy Thru Post Partum

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Pilates was a sickly child with asthma. To help fight his illness and build his strength, he experimented with various mind-body disciplines and later became an accomplished skier, diver, gymnast, and boxer. While in internment during WWI in England, he taught fellow interns his concepts and exercises that he developed over 20 years of self-study and apprenticeship in yoga, Zen, and ancient Greek and Roman physical regimens. During this time, Pilates began devising the system of original floor exercises known today as “Pilates matwork”. Within a few years, he became a nurse to the many internees under care with wartime disease and physical injury. Here, he began devising exercise apparatuses to rehabilitate the patients by taking springs from the beds and rigging them to create spring resistance and “movement” for the bedridden. This “system” formed the foundation for his style of body conditioning used today.

The benefit of Pilates’ movement therapy exercises for women thru pregnancy and post-partum is mostly misunderstood. Simply put, Pilates is a safe and effective approach to exercise for pregnant women to assist with breathing, body alignment and to recover body shape and tone after birth. Pilates focuses on breathing, which promotes relaxation and helps activate the transversus abdominus. The transversus abdominus is the deepest of the abdominal muscles and is responsible for supporting the lumbar spine and pelvic area at a time when ligaments are lax due to the natural hormone relaxin excreted by the body during the pregnancy and nursing stages. Lateral breathing also inherent in Pilates fitness, which improves rib cage mobility when the range of motion in the diaphragm is limited due to the high position of the baby in the third trimester. Back pain is a common side effect of pregnancy. Unless the abdominal muscles, pelvis and spine are strengthened, problems with the back can occur. Strengthening the transversus abdominus (“abs) through guided Pilates movements will not only improve back pain and postural alignment, but will aid women during labor for a much quicker & safer delivery. Research has shown that activation of the transverses abdominus also activates the pelvic floor, keeping these muscles strong and supple for the birthing process. This can also help with any incontinence that you may experience during and after pregnancy.

Weight Loss Exercise for Women

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

A healthy diet and adequate exercise are necessary for weight loss. The loss of weight associated with a chronic illness is referred to as cachexia. Unexpected, unintentional weight loss is a common symptom of illness and should be evaluated by a healthcare professional. Losing weight and keeping it off is a real challenge for most people. Exercise helps to burn excess calories and build muscle, both of which are important for weight management. Exercise increases your metabolism, burns excess calories, and increases your muscle mass, which in turn burns more calories. Exercising too hard or trying to do too much too quickly in the beginning can lead to burnout, serious injuries, and frustration. Instead, you should gradually begin to increase the intensity of your workout. The reasons to lose weight are as numerous as the number of dieters, but health and self-esteem top most people’s lists.

Excess weight is caused by an interaction of genetic and environmental factors, which include: physical and chemical and behavioral components. Because of the complexity of weight loss, gain, and maintenance, women need to understand that a quick and effortless weight loss is worthless. Extra weight can aggravate heart problems, and can cause diabetes and a host of other scary medical problems. Exercising on an empty stomach does not affect how you lose weight. In fact, it may hinder it if you don’t have the energy to exercise. You should at least drink a glass of juice prior to your workout if you’re exercising in the morning. Spot exercises, like sit-ups, crunches, hip raises, leg raises, hip adduction, hip abduction, etc. can only develop the muscles adjacent to the fat. They cannot burn fat from the area exercised.
