College Scholarships For Women Who Are Over 25

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Many agencies and associations have college scholarships just for women who are over 25. This means that you can proceed to get the college degree at any level and in the field of your choice. Education scholarships are also available at many colleges, and some specify that you must be a woman that is 25 or older. Scholarships Are Available for Many Fields. Just about every career field imaginable (and more) has some kind of scholarship to further some students’ education in that field. This means that if you look around, you can find some that you can apply for.

Professional scholarship providers are looking for women over 25 who are seeking to enter into the professional fields. One such college scholarship grantor is the Business and Professional Women / USA agency. Probably already having completed an undergraduate degree, there is award money ready to provide students with free college money. In many cases, the degree being pursued could be either a graduate or an undergraduate. Financial need may have to be established in order to qualify for some of them.

There are many fellowships and scholarships available from the best agencies in the United States. This includes the scientific, political, medical, law, computer fields and more. Agencies such as AT&T Labs, Bell Labs, the Center for Women in Government, University at Albany, Georgetown University Law Center, L’oreal Women in Science Program, the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and many more, all offer scholarships for women.

College scholarships for women are often tied in to other agendas. Since the provider often wants a greater number of women in higher places of business and other fields, there may also be a support system that may come with the scholarship to help you succeed once you graduate. This is certainly worth looking into if you want both the education and help getting your career path established.

When you want to get a college degree in a technical field, especially computers, you have several options. Of course, you don’t want to forget about the largest search engine company that there is – Google. Google offers the Anita Borg Scholarship for those going into computer science or computer engineering. Separate scholarships from Google are also available for people in Australia and in Europe.

If you are older than 35, then there are other special scholarships for you. Associations exist that provide scholarships that are very interested in seeing you return to school and work toward furthering your education. One such place, if you are pursuing a technical degree, is the Brookhaven National Laboratory. This one is especially designed for women who have had some time lapse since they were in school last.

Finding Clothing Colors to Suit You

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

The colors you wear can make a stunning effect on a person’s overall look. Take a look at yourself in the mirror with a white background and in natural daylight. Your eyes — what color are they? What about your hair? How light is your skin: are you fair, tan or dark-skinned? Do you have blue or orangey undertones in your skin – make a note of all the colors that you observe.Matching the color of your hair and eyes is a simple method. For instance, you can pair your green eyes with a Kelly green shirt and consider doing the same with your accessories. Put together different shades of a color to make a matching outfit. The main thing is to aim to put colors near your face that bring out the best out in your hair and eyes tones.

Is your skin coloring cool or warm? You can tell by the way you tan. Warm colored skins turn brown when they get a lot of sun – if that’s you you’re a warm. Basically skin that has more of a bluish or pinkish tinge to it is known as a cool. The skin is dark brown, olive, pale or ruddy. Warm-toned people have skin with a golden tinge, also ranging from very dark to pale. Cool toned people look best in pure white and jewel colors that are bluish such as green, purple and blue. Warm-toned people are suited to ivory and earth tones that are orange-hued. Examples of these are brown, orange and yellow.

Discover your ’season’.

Learn what season you are considered to be. If you have pale blond hair or red hair, light colored eyes and skin that is fair and delicate, you are a spring. Select soft colors that remind you of spring (like green, pale blue, golden yellow) and stay away from boring colors like black and white or gray. If you have naturally blond or brown hair with light skin and eyes, you are a summer. You should go for black, white, pastels and blue tones. Basically your skin has more of a bluish or pinkish tinge to it. Autumns have earth-toned skin, such as golden-brown or bronze and usually have red or brown hair with brown eyes. The best colors for autumn or fall consist of oranges, golds, beiges and gray. Stay away from black and white, pastels and blues. People who have dark hair and eyes are classified as winters. Great colors for you are navy blue, cool blue, gray, emerald green, icy pink and white. Don’t get muted or earthy colors.

These are the secrets to a great look simply by selecting the right colors. Accentuating your best aspects can be fun.
